A Larger Vision: Heal the Ocean

Something is new here at Carbon2Cobalt; something we’ve never done before.

First, a little background on us. Based in the beach-side community of Santa Barbara, California, we create Men’s and Women’s styles intended to make what you wear feel like your true vision of who you are. We do this by focusing on details and adding elements that can be appreciated and make you feel good. And in that pursuit, we wondered if we could take those elements further — could we create something that not only makes you feel good, but extends good to others?

Our clothes are designed in-house with the upmost attention to detail, and we collaborate with global partners to deliver our unique collection. When choosing vendors and suppliers, we like to cultivate relationships that feel like family. And within that family, cherish those that think differently and encourage us to do the same.  We challenged ourselves to create some styles this Spring that played off of elements that can give back – and the idea of our Men’s Ocean Warrior Tees and Men’s Sandbar Trunks was born.

Being a coastal community that values the natural beauty of the Pacific and it’s beaches, we see firsthand how it has been impacted by the pollution in our oceans, as well as the need to restore and nurture this ecosystem. So, we wanted to ensure these tees and swim trunks were not only cool looking, but going to give a portion back to an important cause. While discussing it in our office, to no surprise, we landed on Heal the Ocean

“When things are not right in the ocean, it is in each and every one of our natures to do something about it. No matter where we live, we must take action to protect the ocean because, in the end, we are all connected to the ocean, and it connects us all.”

With a focus on Santa Barbara County, Heal the Ocean targets water infrastructure as well as dumping practices that have contributed to ocean pollution. While this does benefit our local coast, Heal the Ocean’s methods also serve as models for other coastal communities across the country.

Be sure to check out these styles that give back and make you feel proud to be wearing them. A portion of the profit from each sale of our Men’s Ocean Warrior Tees and Men’s Sandbar Trunks will be donated to Heal the Ocean, so that we can do our part here at C2C to stay connected to a bigger whole.
